Claire & Chris' Wedding

Eve Daniels Photography ~ South Farm ~ Hertfordshire Weddings
13th July 2018

In among the weeks of rain earlier this year, there was a single day where the sun came out, and it was on this day that Claire and Chris got married.  Due to the good weather, they were able to have an outside wedding at the stunning South Farm near Royston, Hertfordshire.

Claire contacted me late 2017 to book one of my photography packages, and I was overjoyed when I found out that they were intending to get married at South Farm.  It had been on my wish list for weddings for quite some time.

Claire and her bridesmaids got ready in the bridal suite at South Farm, allowing me to take some lovely bridal prep photos. Bridal prep details were:

Make up and hair was created by Sarah Henning.

Claire's wedding dress was Ralea by La Sposa and she purchased this from The Dress House in Luton.  Claire mentioned that they were absolutely fantastic and she’d highly recommend their amazing and personalised service.

Claire left the choice of bridemaids dresses to her bridesmaids. Three of them chose the same dress, one in a different colour, however the pale colours really complimented each other and added a little quirkiness to the look.

The one thing that blew me away on the day was the amount of effort that had gone into the table decorations.  Claire had organised and set up the tables herself, with a little help from her family and friends.  Each table had a different theme from Disney to Star Wars, however they all fitted together perfectly to create an amazing room.  I asked Claire and Chris how they chose their theme and here is their reply: "We really wanted it to be personal to us and include all the things we both love and have fond memories of. We feel the colour scheme suited the venue but we kept it subtle as we wanted the table decorations to really stand out." and they really did.

There were wooden cut outs as name settings for every guest which Chris had made himself and the slate table names were also a DIY project by Chris.

As South Farm is an actual working farm, Claire really wanted some photos with the piglets.  We got a few in after the wedding breakfast follwed by some gorgeous couple photos, thanks to a stunning sunset.

To end the day Claire decided to provide a surprise for Chris.  She had told me that she felt the day had been very girly so she wanted to do something especially for her new husband.  Chris is a huge Walking Dead fan so Claire found a character look-a-like of Negan to gate crash the end of their first dance.  The shock on Chris' face when he walked in, shouting, shaking his barbed wire bat and eventually kidnapping Claire, although, luckily,  only for a few moments.  It was a brilliant way to start the evening.  Everyone loved it!

Claire and Chris had a fabulous wedding day.  They admitted that the day went by so fast and they felt like they missed half of their own wedding as they were so busy, but their favourite part of the day was having everyone together....... closely followed by the Piglets.
