Lesley & Mick's Wedding
Eve Daniels Photography ~ The Hitchin Priory ~ Hertfordshire Weddings
16th April 2018
Lesley and Mick got married at the beautiful Hitchin Priory in September last year. I worked with Lesley for 4 years and it was whilst I was still working in my office job that Lesley asked me to be her wedding photographer. I had only just started up my photography business at the time and I was honoured to have been asked.
The bride and groom were both very relaxed about the photography for their big day and they asked me to only cover 2 hours worth, from 30 minutes before the ceremony until an hour afterwards.
The ceremony was full of laughter and the Hitchin Priory room is so light and airy that the atmosphere was contagious. Unfortunately, the rain poured as the ceremony came to an end. So much so, that it was completely out of the question to take Lesley and Mick outside for some couple shots, and only being commissioned for 2 hours meant that I had to find some areas inside with good light. Luckily, there were a number of rooms available at the venue to take some lovely photos - dark and light.
Lesley chose a classic dark blue and white colour scheme which matched perfectly with the room and the white bouquets really complimented the blue bridesmaid dresses. The flowers were arranged by Lesley's sister.
As favours Lesley and Mick chose little personalised pots of marmalade. The reason behind this was because they had planned a honeymoon to Peru and wanted something to reflect that. Well, Paddington Bear comes from Peru and he loves...... Marmalade 🙂 BRILLIANT!
The Hitchin Priory is definitely a good venue to choose especially for weddings outside of the summer season when good weather is not guarenteed, but it has some wonderful areas outside that would be perfect for wedding photography.
